Job Description Summary:
Draper is seeking a senior hardware structural and thermal structural analysis engineer to drive the design and development of novel solutions to customer driven problems surrounding ruggedized miniature electro-mechanical systems, systems for harsh environments (e.g. high-g, high temperature, high vibration), and Robotics and autonomous systems. This role will support developing cutting-edge technologies for missions critical to national interests.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
•Execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the performance, functionality, and durability of hardware products.
•Conduct thorough testing and validation of hardware products to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and quality standards.
•Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware defects and implement preventive measures for malfunctions to minimize future occurrences.
•Contribute to requirements development, propose ways forward, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.
•Perform analytical modeling and finite element analysis of complex electro-mechanical systems.
•Able to provide insight and suggest design modifications based on analysis outcomes, and to apply analysis techniques across a range of technical disciplines.
•Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies for them.
•Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities
•Curiosity-driven approach to solving complex, customer-driven problems as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
•Collaborate and communicate effectively and openly with multi-disciplinary program team members, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.
•Be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to balance multiple competing tasks and demands.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
•Strong foundation in engineering principles.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

Education
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience
Requires 5-7 years of Engineering experience with Bachelor's Degree. 3-5 years of Engineering experience with Master's Degree.

Additional Job Description:
