Our Platform Hardware team owns the development of both customer-facing and internal products, providing underlying technology to enable NI's large portfolio of test and measurement products. This technology includes chassis, controllers, FPGA backends, timing & synchronization and more. As part of the global R&D organization, you are responsible for bringing new technologies to market, as well as ownership in the health of our current portfolio. You will coordinate product development activities, lead projects, assign tasks, and monitor progress. You will also play a key role in training and developing the skills of team members and ensuring good collaboration with other departments within Emerson and with third parties. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Electrical Engineering or a similar field, with several years of work experience, as well as prior experience in leadership roles.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:


  1. Responsible for the professional and career development of the hardware engineers and technicians within your team by identifying training and career development opportunities, setting and monitoring annual goals and conducting performance evaluations.
  2. Leading and implementing new hardware technology and development projects (leading the team, removing obstacles, budget responsibility) to efficiently and innovatively deliver on business objectives.
  3. Support our internal and external customers, provide technical support and solutions for customer and Manufacturing issues.
  4. Communicate to and collaborate with other departments (Hardware, Software, Support, Manufacturing) to define, direct, and execute on the evolution of software and hardware strategy.
  5. Define group strategies and handle our resources.

For This Role, You Will Need:


  1. B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant full-time experience in R&D with passion dealing with people.
  3. 1-2 years of team leadership experience.
  4. Excellent English language proficiency and communication skill with all levels of organization.
  5. Demonstrated success and experience in project management.
  6. Knowledge in Agile and waterfall development practices.
  7. Experience in handling resources, budgets, and schedules.
  8. Ability to work with multi-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications that set you apart:


  1. Good understanding in relevant technologies such as PXI, PCIe, FPGAs, and controller architecture.
