The Ellison Medical Institute is looking for a driven and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. As a key partner within the Institute, HR collaborates with leadership to build a strategic and effective workforce while delivering seamless HR services across the organization.
We seek candidates who are action-oriented, operate with integrity, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Required Experience: 3-5 years of progressive HR experience
Preferred Field of Expertise: Life Sciences, Biotech, Healthcare industry experience
Salary: $91,589-$98,462, DOE

- Lead onboarding and new hire orientation to create a positive experience that reflects the Institute’s culture.
- Maintain accurate employee documentation (I-9s, visas, NTEs, etc.) and ensure proper record keeping.
- Implement efficient processes for HR services, including onboarding, internal transfers, and departures.
- Manage employee engagement surveys (engagement, benefits, stay, exit) and analyze results to drive improvements.
- Oversee the buddy program and coordinate cohort events.
- Track and manage required training programs across the Institute.
- Respond to HR service requests via Remedy Force and manage inquiries through the HR email inbox.
- Benefits and Wellness:
- Administer leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
- Manage wellness programs, events, and budgets.
- Assist employees with benefit inquiries and coordinate responses.
- Gather data for insurance renewals, audits, and program reporting.
- Operational Support:
- Contribute to HR functions such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, compliance, and performance management.
- Communicate HR initiatives to leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Develop workflows and procedures, serving as administrator for HR software and employee portals.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Recommend improvements to HR policies, processes, and services for increased efficiency.
- Generate regular HR metrics reports (staff retention, turnover, etc.) and audit systems for accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyze data to anticipate issues, recommend solutions, and implement changes.
- The position reports directly to the Director, Human Resources. The role has no direct reports.
- Prior experience supporting the implementation and maintenance of an HRIS, Namely and/or UKG preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- This role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for hybrid and in-office presence.
