Job Summary
As the Human Resources Generalist for Facet, you will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including administering benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role is highly involved in enhancing communication and company culture, identifying opportunities to provide strategic partnership to people leaders, ensuring smooth transitions including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and transfers. The Human Resource Generalist provides support in the HR Managers absence and assists the recruiter as needed.
You will work within the HR team and report to the HR Manager, while interacting with staff across departments to meet their HR needs. This position is hybrid and requires work out of Facets corporate office in Seattle 2 days per week, with 3 days desired. Infrequent travel to surrounding offices in Kirkland, Spokane, Mount Vernon, Whidbey, and Federal Way expected.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Administration of HR Programs
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Makes recommendations for continuous improvement in service and processes.
- Trains and administers workplace injury reporting and investigation, as well as L&I inquiries and claims.
- Supports the recruiter as needed and assists in creating and updating job descriptions.
Support of the Employee Lifecycle
- Provides excellent service to internal customers, establishing and adhering to service standards for response time, communication and follow-up, and resource referrals.
- Manages employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with training, and credentialing, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Employee Relations
- Assists with disciplinary matters; disputes and attends investigation meetings as needed.
- Reviews and recommends employee policies.
Compliance
- Provides training and counsel to people managers on leadership responsibilities for anti-harassment policy, leaves and accommodations, onboarding, and other HR compliance topics.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Ensures timely reporting including ACA, EEO, and OSHA
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Required:
- Bachelors degree in human resource management or a commensurate combination of education and experience
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- At least one year of human resource management experience
- Preferred:
- PHR or SHRM-CP a plus.
