Job Description
Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include training, vaccinations, and certifications.
Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, post open positions and offer candidates.
- Contact job applicants to inform them of the status of their applications.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Schedules and facilitates new hire orientation.
Implements employee engagement programs.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
- Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.
- Confer with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to maintain accurate records
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
At least 5 years of human resource management experience required
SHRM-CP a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
