Job Description
LER TechForce is seeking a highly skilled and motivated HR Manager to oversee all human resource functions for a new low production assembly facility. The HR Manager will be responsible for managing recruiting, benefits administration, employee orientations, and ensuring a positive work environment that fosters employee engagement and productivity. This position will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with labor laws and company policies while supporting our mission to achieve operational excellence. This is an on-site position and is non-union.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition:
- Lead and manage the full-cycle recruitment process for plant-based roles, including hourly, skilled trades, and management positions.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
- Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates.
- Post job openings, screen resumes, conduct interviews, and manage the selection process.
- Partner with external agencies and staffing firms as needed to ensure a continuous pipeline of talent.
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into their roles.
Benefits Administration:
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries and issues.
- Work closely with third-party vendors to ensure efficient administration of benefits plans.
- Conduct benefits orientations and educate employees on available options during open enrollment periods.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations related to benefits administration.
- Monitor and report on benefit utilization and recommend adjustments to meet employee needs.
Employee Orientation & Training:
- Develop, implement, and conduct employee orientations for new hires to familiarize them with company policies, safety protocols, plant-specific procedures, and benefits.
- Ensure that all new employees receive the necessary training for their roles, including safety training, equipment handling, and other essential operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify ongoing training needs and opportunities for skill development.
- Maintain accurate records of all training activities and certifications to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Assist with performance management, including conducting performance reviews, developing improvement plans, and addressing disciplinary actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, including health and safety regulations, wage and hour laws, and labor union agreements (if applicable).
- Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Manage employee recognition programs to maintain morale and promote a motivated workforce.
Health & Safety Support:
- Collaborate with the safety team to ensure HR policies and practices align with plant safety programs.
- Assist in promoting workplace safety by ensuring that all employees are aware of safety regulations and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, benefits administration, and recruitment best practices.
- Proven experience in managing employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an assembly production environment with exposure to various physical conditions (e.g., noise, machinery, temperature variations).
