Turner’s Outdoorsman is looking for a CASHIER to process all store transactions with customers accurately and efficiently using a cash register. The Cashier position is a retail professional in attitude and appearance skilled in the art of communication and customer service, and numbers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Greet customers when entering or leaving the store.
  • Provide a positive customer experience with friendly, courteous service.
  • Work as a team to meet store sales goals.
  • Cross-sell products and introduce new ones.
  • Actively involved in promotions, sales, and events
  • Provides product knowledge and helps locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
  • Creates customer orders.
  • Demonstrates constant awareness of firearm safety.
  • Executes all required firearms paperwork within legal parameters.
  • Responsible for assisting in store merchandising changes.
  • Responsible for Loading/Unloading Trucks
  • Receives and stocks merchandise.
  • May fill customer fishing reels using special machines and knot-tying techniques.
  • May participate in store inventory tasks.
  • Able to attend training seminars, including some off-site
  • Must be able to accurately count cash.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Legally eligible to work in a firearm environment.
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Work experience as a Retail Cashier preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with cash register or other point-of-sale system (POS)
  • Hunting, Fishing/Tackle, or the Shooting Sports knowledge a plus
  • Prior retail or sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English
  • High School graduate or GED certificate
  • Basic PC knowledge and grasp instruction to new software programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Responsible for loading/unloading trucks, lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and lift throughout the course of a scheduled shift.

HOURS

  • Hours- varied, varied-OT may be required.
  • Requests for time off may or may not be granted during black-out periods
