The Salvation Army in Las Vegas, Nevada is looking to fill a fulltime Janitor position, located at our Owens Campus facility. The successful candidate for this position will have good time management skills, the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and complete assigned work efficiently. This position is benefit eligible and comes with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, and more.
The Janitor position will perform routine and detailed cleaning duties for this facility that are scheduled on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis. General Cleaning duties will include: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing and dusting all hard surface areas, bathrooms and shower areas. Detailed cleaning duties will include stripping, waxing and shampooing for floors/carpets, and scrubbing/painting for doors and walls. This person will maintain inventory of and advise on janitorial supply monthly orders. Other Duties will include keeping restroom supplies stocked, service and maintaining of records for smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Nevada State Driver's License and clean driving record
- Must be able to carry out duties without close supervision
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds as well as with a wide-range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner
- Highly adaptable; thrives on challenges and excels in new environments
- Should possess time management skills and be able to complete assigned tasks
- Should be physically fit and be able to complete all assigned work efficiently
- An understanding and acceptance of the Salvation Army's mission, philosophy, and practices
- Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
