Main Duties & Responsibilities

Cleans, vacuums, and sweeps hallways, stairwells, offices, kitchens/cafeterias, and other rooms; empties waste baskets possibly weighing up to 50 lbs; dusts furniture, cleans doors, windows, and trim, wet mop floors.

Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains rest rooms; and replaces bathroom supplies such as hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.

Cleans and maintains tile, carpet, and other floor surfaces and baseboards.

Picks up trash from grounds.

When needed, removes snow and salts sidewalks to maintain and ensure the safety of exterior walkways. (We have a service, but sometimes with additional snow/ice, assistance may be required with this in order to keep our walkways safe.)

Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, required.

Ability to perform job duties using various types of equipment including but not limited to; mops, all varieties of vacuums, floor machines, ladders, snow blowers, etc., required. Ability to perform job duties using a variety of cleaning chemicals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb, push/pull, lift, bend, walk, stand, sit, twist, turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Hi-lo certificate is a plus or need to be willing to be trained.
