QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of one year janitorial experience Ability to perform general cleaning tasks using cleaning equipment and tools. Ability to operate small electrical tools for completion of janitorial and cleaning tasks. Basic knowledge of general maintenance skills Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Basic math and reading skills Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving record Ability to pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety e-learning module. Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check. Must be at least 21 years of age. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains all property (Corps and Community Center and Storage Units), Vehicles, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations by conducting daily and routine inspections. Interior - Cleans and polishes common areas as directed by supervisor, including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, scrubbing and wax & polish floors, walls, ceilings & light fixtures. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions Exterior – Maintain exterior areas such as sweep parking areas, sidewalks, clean common area patios and grounds, rake leaves, cut grass or perform other incidental seasonal tasks. Required to move heavy objects such as a major appliance or furniture to target cleaning areas. May perform minor maintenance tasks including, but not limited to replacement of light bulbs or small area painting. Responsible for transporting equipment and supplies to and from storage as required. Aid with pick up and or delivery of items as needed. Assist other personnel with jobs as needed. Provides records and reports as required by supervisor in an accurate and timely fashion. Understanding of and adherence to company safety practices Represents The Salvation Army in a positive and professional manner by maintaining positive relationships with program attendees, vendors and TSA staff. May be required to be on-call after hours for response to building emergencies. Will be required to perform other duties as requested by Corps Officers. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. The Salvation Army will attempt to satisfy requests as long as the accommodation needed is reasonable and no undue hardship would result. Will use near vision at 20 inches or less to far vision of 20 feet or more as well as depth perception to judge distance and space relationship. Requires exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work may involve climbing and crawling into tight or awkward spaces. Repetitive motion of wrists, hands and fingers to perform cleaning tasks. Performance of tasks with arms raised above head for extended periods. Requires walking through buildings and exterior grounds during working hours. Position may require working outside up to 20% of time. May use cleaning solvents, adhesives, or paint and be exposed to fumes from those substances.
