Sampson Regional Medical Center is searching for an Accounting Clerk to join the Accounting team!!
Description:
The selected applicant will match purchase orders to the appropriate invoice and submit discrepancies to purchasing on a daily basis. Process non-purchase order invoices timely and in accordance with policy. Checks and verifies invoice prices and math. Ensures accurate record keeping of invoices. Enters and processes invoices in Meditech system. Prepares the weekly check run, checking for accuracy and matching checks to backup. Ensures all invoices are approved and paid in accordance with hospital policies. Performs daily verification and reporting of accounts payables statistics and financial information to hospital administration, as needed. Prepares reconciliation of AP subledger to general ledger for year-end audit and assists auditors with any AP related questions. Prepares annual 1099 tax forms and documentation to review by the Controller and CFO. Will act as backup to payroll with training and education being provided to ensure redundancy between the two positions. Acts as a liaison between accounting and vendors. Answer questions from vendors and provides any documentation needed or required by any taxing authority. Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding patients, families, and employees of Sampson Regional Medical Center. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients at Sampson Regional Medical Center. Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs. May include other job duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent required.
- Two (2) years of accounts payable experience required; medical environment preferred
- Must be efficient with keyboard and calculator skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office and Meditech preferred
Hours:
This is a full-time position. Typical working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. May be required to work other hours for the effective operation of the department.
