The Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting department and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and compliance with internal controls. The Accounting Manager will lead a team of accountants, handle complex accounting issues, and support senior management with financial insights and strategies. This is a hybrid role and will require on site work in Great Neck, NY on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Salary Range - $115,000-$155,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Oversee all general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Review and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Manage and supervise the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of financial statements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit, preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing insights to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce risks.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, GAAP, and other accounting regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring accounting teams.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end/quarter-end close processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, GAAP, and tax regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel (e.g., financial modeling, advanced formulas).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
