A LA based services company is looking to add an Accounting Manager to their team due to the company growth. In this role, the Accounting Manager will need to be able to get in the weeds of accounting, own and streamline month-end close, reduce the closing time, fixed assets, and lease accounting. This role is work from home based, but due to impromptu and occasional in-person meetings, the candidate needs to be near the Los Angeles area.
What do you need for this Accounting Manager role?
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 6 years of accounting experience
- Public accounting experience
- CPA ideal
- Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure all financial data is captured and reported correctly.
- Prepare and present month-end financial reports to senior management.
- Manage the fixed assets register, ensuring accurate tracking of acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Perform regular reconciliations of fixed assets to the general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies related to fixed assets.
- Assist in the preparation of capital expenditure reports and forecasts.
- Manage lease accounting processes in accordance with ASC 842.
- Maintain lease schedules, ensuring accurate and timely recognition of lease-related transactions.
- Work with the operations team to ensure all lease agreements are accurately reflected in the accounting records.
- Prepare and review lease accounting entries and related reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing required schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes.
