Accounting Manager Job at Hoxton Circle in Salinas

Hoxton Circle has partnered with a local ag company in the Salinas area to add a top-tier Accounting Manager role to their accounting team, reporting to the Controller and overseeing staff. • Develop and maintain cost accounting in Famous Software to ensure accurate cost.
• Work closely with operations to monitor and control production and purchasing costs.
• Analyze costs, labor, and overhead to provide detailed cost reports and variance analysis.
  
• Responsible for development and monitoring complex accounting transactions in multiple companies.
• Run and analyze grower settlements within inter-companies.
• Research any discrepancies between inter-companies and ensure they balance.
  
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Support the Corporate Controller in preparing management reports and financial summaries.
  
• Process and review accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist in managing cash flow by monitoring and reporting on outstanding receivables and payables.
• Run and provide reports to management for review and approval.
  
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting functions.
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in classifying, examining, and analyzing transactions.
• Collaborate with Controller and Senior Management to minimize tax exposure.
  
• Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and logistics, to gather necessary information for accurate costing and financial reporting.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions and company growth
• Other duties and AD HOC Project as assigned.
  

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

• BA degree in accounting or finance-related field: CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• MBA Or Master's in Taxation (MST) – Highly desired.
  
• Minimum of 5 years experience in full-cycle accounting (including cost accounting)
• Managerial Accounting experience, overseeing staff.
• Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Famous/Power Business integrated (PBI) with Famous.
• Highly proficient with GAAP.
