Accounting Manager

Our client, a rapidly growing technology company based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team three days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) on-site. This role is essential to developing efficient accounting processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting, helping drive strategic decision-making as the company scales. Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close and oversee daily accounting operations.
• Own complex accounting areas such as capitalized software, stock-based compensation, and equity, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Review month-end reconciliations and perform variance analysis, supporting FP&A with results.
• Develop and refine processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Prepare and support external audit requirements.
• Ensure global regulatory and tax compliance.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects, including system implementations and new accounting standards.
• Lead or assist in ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

Requirements

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Big 4 public accounting firm (preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in high-volume, multi-currency transactions.
• Experience with NetSuite preferred.
• Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff.
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.

Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $119K - $162K per year.
