SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $110,000 based on applicable experience.

THE COMPANY: Intrinsic Development is a full service real estate development company that specializes in upscale multi-family and commercial mixed-use developments. Our organization has built more than 3.5 million square feet of projects, with an additional 300,000 square feet currently under construction. The Intrinsic Development team has successfully developed everything from hospitality venues, to mixed-use, multi-family, hotels, clinics, offices and restaurants across 6 Midwestern states. We are excited to expand into Lee's Summit, Missouri which will be the new home for our corporate office. This expansion coincides with the launch of our new 260+ acre mixed-use development, which will feature approximately 2,900 luxury multi-family units, as well as over 660,000 square feet of retail, office, entertainment, hospitality space, and other related commercial uses.

ACCOUNTING MANAGER POSITION: We are seeking a full-time, highly capable Construction Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting operations for both current and future development projects. In this role, you will manage the entire full-cycle accounting process, including contract administration, cash management, job cost accounting, and financial statement preparation. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and lead a department as we scale! Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to choose between our vibrant Columbia office or relocating to our brand-new, state-of-the-art headquarter office in Lee's Summit once it is completed. ACCOUNTING MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contract administration; Assist with contract administration by reviewing and analyzing contract terms and conditions, tracking contract modifications and change orders, and ensuring compliance with contract billing and revenue recognition requirements.
  • Cash reconciliation and management; ensure accurate reconciliation of cash transactions and effectively manage cash flow for the construction projects.
  • Job Cost Accounting; maintain a comprehensive job cost accounting system to track and analyze project costs, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses.
  • Lien waver tracking/management; monitor and manage lien waivers to ensure compliance with legal requirements and protect the company's interests.
  • COI Management; oversee the collection and management of certificates of insurance from subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
  • Use tax filing; prepare and file use tax returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable/Customer Billing; manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoicing customers accurately and timely.
  • Fixed Asset tracking/reconciliation; maintain accurate records of fixed assets, track depreciation, and reconcile asset balances to ensure proper accounting and reporting.
  • General Ledger reconciliation and account analysis; conduct regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts and perform account analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Financial Statement preparation; prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Report writing; generate various financial reports to provide management with accurate and timely information for decision-making purposes.
ACCOUNTING MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:
  • MINIMUM: 5+ years general accounting experience
  • PREFERRED; previous construction accounting experience
  • PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • PREFERRED: Procore and Sage/Timberline exposure
  • Ability to learn other financial software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
