We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller/Bookkeeper to manage and oversee our company’s financial operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Conduct budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure proper financial planning and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax filings and annual tax returns.
- Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide support during audits.
- Assist with financial strategy and planning to support the company’s long-term goals.
- Other accounting and financial management duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 2+ years of proven experience as a Controller, Bookkeeper, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other departments.
