CSSC hosts annual signature and partnership events including The Broadmoor Cycle to the Summit, Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off, Colorado Springs Sports Hall of Fame, Pikes Peak APEX, Pikes Peak Regional Airshow, Rocky Mountain State Games, Colorado Senior Games, Star-Spangled Symphony & Fourth of July Fireworks, and various sport centric celebrations. In addition, supporting the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, National and International Governing Bodies of Sport, and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum remains a staple component of t The Nonprofit Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, GAAP, and relevant federal and state regulations. The role involves benefit administration and managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and preparing financial statements and reports. The manager collaborates with other departments to streamline processes and improve financial management prac Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, monthly general ledger entries, and semimonthly payroll. 2. Administer employee benefits including health & workers comp insurance, 403 (b) maintenance and year end reporting, new employee onboarding processes and vacation time tracking while maintaining confidentiality for empl 3. Manage the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis, monitoring cash flow, investments, and financial performance against the annual budget. 4. Prepare financial statements monthly and reports for senior management and board of directors as requested. 5. Ensure timely, accurate month-end and year-end closing processes. 6. Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, GAAP, relevant federal and state regulations and best practices. 7. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements, liaising with external auditors and necessary reporting agencies. 8. Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. 9. Prepare financial reports for donors, grantors, and other stakeholders as required and oversee grant accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with grantor requirements. 10. Downloading and recording transactions from PayPal, online registration transactions for all events from event specific and ticketing websites and reconciling with athlete counts and event attendees totals. 11. Manage on-site cash control for all events including beer garden sales, day of ticket and merchandise sales, parking, etc. 12. Reconcile and manage monthly shared expenses report with Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, including preparing timesheets to approve and processing payroll semimonthly. 13. Manage accounting and financial reporting operations for Sports Climb, LLC, including annual tax and regulatory filings. 14. Collaborate with other departmen s to streamline processes and improve financial management practices and maintain/enhance the organization's financial management systems. Additional duties include: 1. Sports Corp team in operational set up, tear down and execution of events as we are an all-hands-on deck team during events. Minimum Qualifications: 1. (Preferred) Previous experience in nonprofit accounting. 4. Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail, systems-oriented, with the ability to work independently. 5. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize duties. 6. High level of comfort with technology and the ability to learn and operate office software. Software utilized will include QuickBooks Online, with its online bill pay functions and other expense report software, Microsoft Operating System and Office programs (including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel). 7. Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely. 8. (Preferred) 3+ years accounting, controller or advanced bookkeeping experience. 9. (Preferred) Knowledge of the Pikes Peak Region, its community organizations and leadership. 10.
