Our client is a company in the Greater Milwaukee area looking for an Accounting Specialist. This company is looking for someone with 1+ years of experience, a team player, and self-motivated. This position will allow for an excellent work/life balance, room for growth, and competitive benefits. This position is onsite.
The salary for this position is $52k.
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather, compile, and evaluate data from multiple sources and various systems to prepare comprehensive monthly or quarterly statements for our accounts.
- Prepare and make entries into a general ledger system for review and approval by management. Monthly reconciliation of the previous month's outstanding balances.
- Execute data entry for premiums and losses within an AS/400 platform, which is in the beginning phase of migrating to an updated system.
- Research and reconcile unsolved open items by policy.
- Interact with external contacts, including brokers, insureds, and third-party administrators.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in accounting, or an equivalent combination of related experience.
- 1+ years of relevant accounting experience, or AP/AR high volume transmittal experience.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working independently.
