About the position: The Accounting Manager isResponsible for providing management with timely and accurate financial data necessary for budgetary and financial decisions. Responsibilities include all day-to-day accounting functions. Will also provide backup assistance to the VP, Finance and Operations, and the Accounting Associate.

Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains sound accounting practices, fiscal records and financial reports.
• Prepares and reviews monthly financial statements, compares budgeted with actual figures and discusses with VP, Finance and Operations on a monthly basis.
• Prepares monthly standard and regular journal entries from worksheets and other documents.
• Responsible for the timely preparation of month end closing activities and related journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Processes Payroll on a biweekly basis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reviewing payroll register prior to the timely submission of payroll; recording biweekly payroll, analyzing monthly payroll accrual and biweekly 401k and corresponding journal entries, distributing and monitoring pay cards, and entering payroll transfer for approval.
• Provides oversight and management of daily cash management which include, but is not limited to, daily cash flow, positive pay for bank accounts, review banking activity, enter transfers as needed for approval (part of monitoring cash flow balances), approval of invoices for entry/posting, ensure weekly check run is done and reconciliation of corporate credit cards.
• Reviews and maintains all account reconciliations which include, but is not limited to, all necessary entries as listed on month end closing process, review accounts associated with all benefit invoices and discuss any issues with HR and enter monthly sales figures for retail.
• Responsible for managing the day-to-day role and responsibilities of the Accounting Associate.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly and yearly state and federal payroll reports, sales tax reports and returns.
• Responsible for all 1099 filings.
• Maintains fixed asset and depreciation schedule for all annual activity.
• Responsible for compiling employee benefits and makes appropriate journal entries.
• Prepares sales invoices and monitors collectability of all accounts receivables.
• Responsible for timely Accounts Payable review and payment to ensure vendor payments are always in good standing.
• Assists with preparation for the annual year-end and employee benefit plan audits.
• Reviews and reconciles daily store reports to ensure cash drawers are posted and drawers are reconciled. Verifies and works with AP to review discrepancies.
• Prepares grant submissions for reimbursements on a monthly basis including tracking spreadsheet, scanned copies of invoices, American Express statements, and scanned copies of cancelled checks.
• Prepares monthly and annual reports to be submitted to GII.
• Assists with various operational related duties including, but not limited to, building walkthroughs, safety meetings, maintaining safety policy procedures (i.e.: maintain vehicle log and van keys).
• Complies with safety policies and procedures. Ensures your safety and the safety of others by striving to improve the safety conditions, attitudes, and performance in your work area and throughout the Agency.
• Other duties as assigned (i.e.: mailing certified mail, ordering deposit slips/bags).

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of budgetary preparation and management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Working knowledge of all generally accepted accounting and operating procedures and principles.
• Knowledge of banking procedures as they relate to cash management.
• Knowledge of fiscal administration including payroll, pension plan and benefits administration.
• Good knowledge of fixed asset depreciation schedules.
• Demonstrated skills in the preparation of monthly financial reports.

Salary: $80,000-$85,000
