Summary This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Office of Innovation, of the Office of the Archivist. The Office of Innovation is responsible for NARA's Open Government and Digital Strategy efforts, the online public catalog, NARA's digitization strategy and partnerships, and the National Archives' web presence. Responsibilities As a SECRETARY, you will: Provide a wide variety of administrative services, technical and clerical duties in support of the programs in the Office of Innovation Maintain control records on incoming correspondence and action documents and follow up on work in progress to ensure timely action. Review outgoing correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy, adherence to general policy, and call any questions or inadequacies to the attention of the writer. Arrange meetings, interviews, etc., including securing the meeting space, coordinating the meeting time with attendees, and assembling and distributing meeting materials. Maintain records for time and attendance for the staff, including leave and credit time, and process time sheets for each pay period. Specialized experience for the GS-8 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-7 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: Reviewing documents for grammar, format, and punctuation accuracy; AND Answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate staff In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): For the GS-08, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks.
