Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Educator Access, and ERMA is required. Candidates' work history must include experience multi-tasking in a fast paced work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in a school environment is a plus.

Purpose Statement
The job of Office Secretary was established for the purpose(s) of providing assistance to the building principal to ensure efficient and effective operation of the school.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for office reception when working.
- Acts as a resource to office staff for building level administrative operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Administers first aid to students as well as contacting district specialists when necessary on medical issues.
- Assist with entering and maintaining information on student data system.
- Assist with providing to staff accessible contact/emergency information on students.
- Assists with facilitation of busing, bus changes and field trip requests.
- Assists with the maintenance of all student records: permanent, temporary, attendance, others as needed.
- Assists with the maintenance of attendance control mechanisms (e.g. attendance information to families and communication regarding truancy)
- Assists with duplication projects as needed.
- Develop and implement a friendly but efficient business atmosphere in the office that enhances the school's public image.
- Informs the principal of problems or concerns of staff, students, or parents.
- Maintains student attendance and truancy records.
- Assists with sorting and distributing mail.
- Assists with other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
