Rivers Health is seeking a full-time Rehabilitation Secretary.

JOB SUMMARY:

Scheduling and receiving patients, data entry into computer, transcribe evaluations, letter, and progress reports to physicians and insurance companies, daily charges, monthly statistical reports and other secretarial duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.

  1. Schedule and receive patients for speech, occupational and physical therapy.
  2. Register all patients, contact insurances for prior authorization, and re-authorization.
  3. Enter daily statistics of patients and treatments performed by each department.
  4. Prepare and maintain patient charts.
  5. Responsible for ordering office supplies and equipment for the Rehab Department, after receiving Director's approval.
  6. Complete Medicare forms, as well as other forms necessary (i.e., travel vouchers, verification of appointment for work/school, etc.).
  7. Answer the phone in an appropriate, courteous manner. Perform receptionist duties.
  8. Maintain tidiness of office and waiting area. Clean desk/countertops, cabinets, etc. as needed.
  9. Responsible for operation of copier, fax machine, typewriter, computer, other office equipment.
  10. Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
  11. Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.
  12. Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on quality improvement teams.
  13. Participates in staff meetings, in-services, and projects.
  14. Contact physician office for written order and file in patient's chart with copy of registration, insurance card and approved number of treatments.
  15. Perform other related or similar duties as may be periodically assigned.


EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:

High school diploma, or equivalent of high school diploma.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

One to two years secretarial experience.
