Job Description
Perform various administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document management
Prepare legal documents, including contracts and pleadings, for attorney review
Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and completeness
Maintain calendars and schedule appointments for attorneys
Answer phone calls and take messages with proper phone etiquette
Transcribe dictations and correspondence as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation secretary is required
Must have experience in personal injury defense, construction defect defense, and
insurance defense.
Knowledge of legal terminology, e-filing, court rules, and court system
Knowledge of WordPerfect and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing
computer systems, transcription software, dictaphone and court forms program)
Working knowledge of litigation management software systems is a plus
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent attention to detail and proofreading abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
