Schedule: Monday - Friday, start time between 8am-8:45am, end time between 4:30pm-5:15pm (MUST HAVE FLEXIBILITY BETWEEN 7AM-7PM TO COVER AS NEEDED)
Location: Orchard Park, NY
Compensation:
- Most candidates will start within the first quartile of the pay range
- Rates are commensurate with experience
Responsibilities of Position:
- Coordinates scheduling with medical secretary and assists with modifying provider schedule when necessary to conform to changing priorities and unanticipated events, including changes in staffing schedule and other activities.
- Obtains prior authorization for diagnostic testing and procedures. Headache Center check out required to obtain all authorizations through WC for PT, OT, MT, Diagnostic testing, SPGs, Nerve Blocks, Trigger Points.
- Responsible for monitoring schedule to make sure no authorization is missing for upcoming injections
- Responds appropriately to patient inquiries, providing accurate and detailed information.
- Responds appropriately to referring physician’s office inquiries
- Answers all calls pertinent to assigned area, directing clinical calls to appropriate clinical personnel
- Works with patient and other office personnel to coordinate care
- Data entry into EMR pertaining to the patient’s office visit; entering any prescriptions, diagnostic testing and outside procedures.
- Schedules follow up appointments for office visits and diagnostic testing that is to be done internally as well as externally
- Bump providers schedules (move patients) for out of office days
- Creates work notes for patients based upon provider instruction
- Knowledgeable on medical cannabis and CBD to assist patient with basic instruction.
- Serves as a liaison to patient and other internal and external contacts
- Makes follow-up phone calls to patients as self, manager or provider directs
Skills & Experience Necessary:
- Strong data entry skills and knowledgeable around computers.
- High degree of communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written in interactions with others.
- Strong planning, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of general office equipment including fax and copy machines, and multi-line phone system and computer.
- Ability to address and resolve conflict in a professional manner.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to be flexible
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric clinic or outpatient mental health setting is a plus
