Description
Monterey Peninsula College is currently accepting applications to establish a pool for future part-time teaching assignments in American Sign Language.
At present, there is an opportunity for an American Sign Language instructor to teach ASL classes in Fall 2024:
- Sign 1A, 1B, 2A: Hybrid Classes
- Sign 10: Online
- Sign 20: Online
Also teach the following lab classes:
- 1AL/1BL/1CL/1DL lab classes: Hybrid Classes
The above courses are closely coordinated with and intended to support the regular classes.
Example of Duties
POSITION DEFINITION:
Under the supervision of the area Dean and the guidance of the Department, the adjunct instructor will provide instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, class schedules, and Governing Board policy; evaluate student progress; and perform other instructional duties as assigned. Instructor may be assigned to the Monterey campus and/or Marina Education Center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet each scheduled class and teach for the entire period.
- Provide students with written information about the course and grading system.
- Maintain accurate class records.
- Submit necessary reports on time.
- Comply with institutional policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of students and staff.
Qualifications
- Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience OR
- Any associate degree and six years of professional experience OR
- CA Community College Teaching Credential in this discipline OR
- The equivalent. (Equivalency Form must be submitted for consideration)
