OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

The Lead Beverage Assistant assists the Front of House Assistant Restaurant Manager and Bartender with all beverage service aspects of CIA Restaurants while maintaining high service standards and providing professional, courteous, and timely customer service. The Lead Beverage Assistant will expand their knowledge in multiple restaurant tasks and beverage inventory management, such as assisting Bartenders to ensure they have everything they need to serve customers efficiently, MICROS point of sale system, guest relations, professional communication, steps of service, inventory and distributing them to their proper destination, along with organizing and putting away stock orders.

SHIFTS:

  • Between Tuesday - Saturday Tuesday - Saturday 5:00PM-10:30PM
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists guests by anticipating their needs while they are in the restaurant or attending any other program that we are offering at that time.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of workstations.
  • Work with a Bartender to include replacing kegs, restocking glasses and other supplies needed to make drinks and throughout their shift.
  • Work with a Bartender to include pull and deliver daily orders for kitchens, restaurants, and any other location that places an order.
  • Assists Restaurant Assistant Restaurant Manager with scheduling tasks (With guidance and approval from ARM, Exempt staff must send schedule to Earn and Learns)
  • Assist with tracking hours and following up on missed punches utilizing SETA. (Exempt Staff Approval Required)
  • Assist with the training of Beverage Assistants in coordination with Faculty and Staff
  • Completes opening and closing side work as assigned with the goal of contributing to an organized, well-prepared work environment.
  • Assist with accurately executing Non-alcoholic beverages/ pouring wine / pulling draft beer / may learn the necessary skills for producing quality cocktails.
  • Assist with inventory of bar supplies as instructed.
  • Seeks and develops a strong food and beverage knowledge base.
  • Maintains proper service standards during the dining experience.
  • Demonstrate standards of proper food safety and sanitation.
  • Assists faculty, students, and staff with banquet preparation/execution and bar/dining room/pantry operation.
  • Assists faculty, students, and staff with management of equipment and supplies.
  • Follow strict best practices for responsible serving of alcohol.
  • All other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITES
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of bar operations, and passion for beverages.
  • Wine Cellar or Bartender Assistant previous contract, minimum 1 semester, with approved rehiring for lead,
    • OR, minimum 6-month experience as a bartender in the industry.

Successful applicant must be able to perform all related functions of the assignment which may include working nights and weekends, ability to bend reach and stand for long periods of time, lifting and carrying of items up to fifty (50) pounds, and the ability to withstand high ambient temperatures.
