Job Summary
As a Systems Administrator, the candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining UCL IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security. The candidate’s expertise will be crucial in supporting our Windows and Linux environments, managing various applications, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. The candidate will install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software related problems. The candidate will perform system backups and recovery and will maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.

Responsibilities
Maintain Windows Server environments. Manage and support operating systems. Configure and manage web servers. Administer and maintain Active Directory services. Support and manage cloud storage solutions. Administer and support survey software. Manage and support secure password management. Utilize Campus resources by deploying and managing cloud computing technologies. Administer virtual machines for system support. Endpoint management and security. Implement and manage Privileged Access Management.
Installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity (may include Systems Administrator II, Exchange Systems Administrator, Microsoft Systems Administrator, and UNIX Systems Administrator).
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a project leader or manager.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
