Job Description
Utah Community Action of Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking to hire a full-time Office Assistant for our HEAT Program.

The Office Assistant position earns $17.49/hour based on experience and credentials. The HEAT Office Assistant is responsible for ensuring HEAT office operations and procedures are followed. This can include filing, office supply control, janitorial requisitions, and clerical functions for all UCA Utility Assistance programs. Also responsible for ensuring facility safety by maintaining a presence at the front desk and monitoring the safety and security of their site. The HEAT Office Assistant will also greet clients, visitors, children, parents, and guests, possibly in tandem with answering phone calls. They will help with the screening and scanning of utility assistance applications and documents from HEAT clients. May be required to help process HEAT cases when office duties permit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of experience in non-profits is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of working with individuals in poverty.
- Bilingual (Spanish and Arabic preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- General office setting.
- Remaining in a stationary position.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting and standing
- Prolonged periods in front of a computer monitor.
- The occasional exertion of up to 25lbs. of force may be required.
WORK SCHEDULE
The typical work schedule is 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and the work site is located in Salt Lake City.
