Dock Worker is responsible for the quality and efficiency of loading/unloading of trailers, to include the pallet handling process. This includes checking outbound trailers prior to loading, monitoring all activity in the warehouse, following SOPs to maintain inventory accuracy, prepping loads for shipments and customer requirements.

Job Description:
Dock Worker is responsible for the quality and efficiency of loading/unloading of trailers, to include the pallet handling process. This includes checking outbound trailers prior to loading, monitoring all activity in the warehouse, following SOPs to maintain inventory accuracy, prepping loads for shipments and customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive all inbound material orders including, but not limited to labels, UPS and FedEx deliveries.
- Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines. Use various loading techniques, such as loading tight or cross loading.
- Transport self and/or freight continuously throughout the service center in a forklift.
- Manually pull and stack pallets as needed.
- Rebuild damaged pallets prior to shipping and monitor loads.
- Will be required to operate heavy equipment including but not limited to manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack and various forklifts.
- Unload deliveries manually or with the use of heavy equipment
- Off loads and maintains pallet storage, offloads pallets from trailers and stages for pickups.
- Coordinate preload activities including inspecting trailers to ensure all loads are complete and accurate.
- Maintains correct loading documentation required for daily shipping/ receiving and inventory control.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
- Must be able to work flexible work schedule.
- Previous forklift experience is preferred.
- Mut be able to properly load and secure freight.
- Follow all safety protocols.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, hours may vary.
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push or pull 50+ lbs. consistently throughout shift.
- Ability to stand or walk for duration of shift.
- Ability to bend at the waist, stretch and reach overhead.
- Ability to use arms, legs for long periods of the day
- Ability to make fast, repetitive movements with fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to work in a loud, busy warehouse environment.
