About the Role:
The Production Supervisor oversees a team of Production Leads and Associates, ensuring smooth day-to-day production operations, including meal plating, snack preparation, and beverage packaging. This role is crucial in maintaining quality standards, enhancing team performance, and driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate production team operations, including scheduling, time management, performance evaluations, hiring, and discipline.
- Foster a positive work environment and boost employee morale.
- Identify training needs and support employee development and professional growth.
- Serve as the primary liaison between leads, associates, and the management team.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Thistle’s quality standards, consistently producing products that meet regulatory requirements.
- Lead the implementation of new and ongoing production initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Culinary, Production, and Facilities) to ensure smooth operations in receiving, QA, and GMP adherence.
- Oversee the accuracy of manifests and documentation logs, ensuring all team members understand their functions.
- Stay up to date with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain a working knowledge of relevant processes.
- Communicate effectively with the team to troubleshoot and resolve issues in real time.
- Conduct regular production area audits and shift meetings to ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, and safety regulations.
- Attend weekly safety meetings and ensure all records are updated, including policy changes and rollouts.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and that all COVID-19 protocols are followed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production (food manufacturing experience highly preferred).
- Working knowledge of state wage and time law.
- Desire to develop leadership skills and grow within the role.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide balanced feedback and maintain high performance standards.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with company SOPs and ability to implement new initiatives.
- A proactive approach with a “bring your A-game” mentality, inspiring the same in your team.
- NJ Food Handlers Certification (or equivalent) required.
- Flexibility to work weekends and early morning shifts.
- Comfort working in a refrigerated environment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in G-Suite, Slack, and other tech platforms.
