Production Artist Job at Robert Half in Detroit

Our client is seeking an experienced Detroit based Digital Production Specialist for a contract role with potential to become a permanent employee. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for operating a digital printing press and overseeing related finishing equipment. You will be a part of the fast-paced publishing industry, where you will handle tasks related to digital and offset printing.

Responsibilities:

• Work on the creation of digital print files using provided data • Adjust color calibration to align with client expectations • Manage the setup of supplies and equipment for printing tasks • Supervise the printing press during each operation to ensure efficient workflow • Perform routine maintenance on printing machines to keep them in optimal condition • Review proofs and final product samples before releasing them to customers, ensuring quality control • Maintain cleanliness in the work area to provide a conducive work environment • Monitor supply levels and ensure necessary materials are always available • Use your skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and other related software to accomplish tasks • Handle printing projects, including advertisements, brochures, and artwork, using digital, pre-press, and print production techniques.

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Flash, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign
• Experience in creating advertisements and brochures
• Knowledge of artwork creation for digital and print mediums
• Familiarity with pre-press processes and procedures
• Experience in print production, including digital and offset printing
• Knowledge of operating printing presses and handling printing projects
• Experience with bindery printing projects and letterpress printing
• Must have a good understanding of the publishing industry.
