Under general supervision of the Sr. Director of Technology, we are seeking a skilled Production Manager to oversee the seamless execution of live events hosted on our campus, which serves as a vibrant community hub for spiritual and celebratory events. This role combines expertise in sound engineering with comprehensive production coordination knowledge, including knowledge of the campus building infrastructure and coordinator of video production efforts.
Job Responsibilities
- Sound Engineering: Serve as the lead sound engineer, ensuring top-tier audio quality for a diverse array of events including Shabbat services, weddings, Bar/Bat mitzvahs, birthday parties, and galas.
- Production Coordination: Oversee all aspects of event production, from initial planning to execution, with a detailed understanding of the campus’s event spaces, including power, network, structural, and lighting infrastructure.
- Video Production Management: Manage a video production team, coordinating scheduling and logistics with the event management team to ensure smooth operation and professional outcomes.
- Vendor Coordination: Actively work with third-party vendors, including lighting crews, DJs, sound engineers, video production teams, and caterers to ensure their services align with event requirements and standards.
- Infrastructure Management: Possess comprehensive knowledge of the structural aspects of event spaces to advise on setups that best accommodate the specific needs of each event.
- Customer Service: Maintain exemplary customer service standards, acting as a liaison between the institution and clients to facilitate communication and ensure client satisfaction.
- Develop and enhance interdepartmental relationships and communications by being proactive in communicating with all customers and setting appropriate expectations as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction at the highest levels.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry technologies and continually strive to improve knowledge of internal operations.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional sound engineer with extensive knowledge of audio systems and acoustics.
- Strong background in managing live event production for various types of events.
- Detailed knowledge of building infrastructure relevant to event production (e.g., electrical systems, internet connectivity, lighting, structural loads).
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and schedule a diverse team.
- Written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong customer service acumen.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, dynamic environments.
- Experience coordinating with multiple third-party vendors and service providers.
- A passion for creating memorable experiences in a community-centered spiritual setting.
- Familiar with Dante and audio network environments.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Applicants must be willing to work any day of the year as needed, including weekends (excluding company holidays). Weekend work for this position is not optional nor voluntary. Days off will fluctuate based on project schedules and may occur during the normal work week.
Travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in a religious or spiritual institution is highly advantageous.
- Technical certifications related to sound engineering, lighting design, or production management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
