About the role:
Northern Star has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Production Superintendent to make an impact and grow our world-class Carosue Dam Operations. This opportunity is offered permanently on a Monday to Monday 8/6 day shift roster, FIFO from Perth or BIBO from Kalgoorlie. The Production Superintendent reports to the Processing Manager, and the primary role is to lead the processing operations team to ensure KPI are met in a safe and productive manner.
Here's what awaits you...
- Day to day management of the production functions.
- Mentoring and coaching and development of succession plans for all critical positions.
- Foster continuous improvement opportunities between key functional groups within the processing department (e.g., Maintenance, Production and Metallurgy).
- Work closely with Processing Manager to facilitate ongoing skill assessment and development.
- Tracking of plant performance to monthly and quarterly production plans.
- Manage and review budget compliance with a view at looking for cost saving initiatives.
- Ability to drive team culture that aligns with Northern Star core values.
To thrive in this role, you'll need...
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mineral processing environment at a senior leadership level, experience in budgeting and cost management, performance management of team members, well-developed analytical skills, development of succession plan skills for all critical positions, ability to work well under pressure & computer literacy (Pronto & Microsoft Office preferred).
Qualifications: Degree majoring in Chemistry/Metallurgy from a recognised tertiary institution (preferred) & Australian C Class Driver’s License.
