MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
- Provides input into the purchase, modification, and improvement of varied steel making equipment.
- Work closely with vendors and internal staff to develop project scope, timeline and budget.
- Manage engineering projects on time, on budget, and on deliverables.
- Work with operations, maintenance, and technical groups to prioritize capital investment that improve reliability, increase capacity, and eliminate waste.
- Completes standard engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of equipment.
- Provides day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support to Maintenance.
- May specialize in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Combustion.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Four-year college degree required.
- Three or more years of relevant experience required.
- Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
- Ability to perform independent work on larger assignments requiring experience and independent judgment and under supervision of higher-level engineer, supervisor, or manager.
- Design skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage subsets of projects.
- Ability to apply engineering discipline training in the design of equipment and fabrications.
- Ability to direct outside consultants, contractors, and material suppliers.
