This role ensures that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet all regulatory and quality standards. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production, to improve existing processes and troubleshoot issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs producibility assessments for a product design and collaborates with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and provide producibility input for design engineering, manufacturing process development, and manufacturing technologies to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives. Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Analyze production methods and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. Develops integrated work instructions and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments. Implement and maintain production control systems, including lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies. Develops tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements. Provides configuration accountability for the implementation of committed changes. Reviews and approves supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met. Confers with internal and external customers concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Confers with vendors to determine part specifications and recommends the purchase of equipment and materials used in manufacturing and production. Performs root cause analysis and implements corrective actions to address quality issues and non-conformities.
