Manufacturing Engineer (Metal Fabrication)

Overview:

Our client is a thriving and rapidly expanding manufacturing environment.

The individual will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing production methods and workflows

to maximize productivity and quality while minimizing costs. In addition to process improvement,

you'll focus on product design for manufacturability and collaborate with product designers and

other engineers to ensure that products can be efficiently and effectively manufactured within

the given production constraints. You'll provide input on material selection, component layout, and

assembly methods to optimize production efficiency and maintain product quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.Requirements:
  • A degree or experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience (8-10 years) in an Engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
  • ASME certification preferred
  • A background in aerospace or structural steel manufacturing is highly desired.
Technology Experience Needed:
  • Drawing software (Strong CAD & Solidworks)
  • Microsoft office
  • Reading Blueprints and technical drawings
Welding Processes:
  • MIG
  • TIG
  • STICK
