General Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the design and build of tooling, fixturing and automation for the manufacture of new and current products as well as evaluate production processes and recommend and implement improvements. The candidate will generate work instructions for various processes across the factory. The candidate will also interface with outside tooling/fixturing and equipment suppliers, manage and troubleshoot equipment, and work closely with other members of the engineering team on projects as required.

General Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the design and build of tooling, fixturing and automation for the manufacture of new and current products as well as evaluate production processes and recommend and implement improvements. The candidate will generate work instructions for various processes across the factory. The candidate will also interface with outside tooling/fixturing and equipment suppliers, manage and troubleshoot equipment, and work closely with other members of the engineering team on projects as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop manufacturing tooling and fixtures
- Develop specifications and analyze supplier quotations for purchase of new production equipment, automation and tooling/fixturing
- Work closely with development engineering and production team during launch of new products to ensure safe and timely launch
- Generate work instructions and procedures for tools, equipment and processes within the factory
- Facilitate and perform training on manufacturing procedures and processes
- Facilitate cross-functional process improvement teams
- Standardizing workmanship across the organization
- Develop and implement Manufacturing Control Plans based on DFMEA and PFMEA
- Implement and monitor process capability for continuous improvement
- Coordinate failure analysis; ensure true root cause identification and appropriate corrective actions related to tooling and equipment
- Utilize quality control tools to highlight failure analysis and prioritize improvement activities
- Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products
- Must be skilled in AutoCad, Solid Works or equivalent CAD tools
- Understanding of GD&T inspection methods and equipment
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Tools; Value Stream Mapping, 5s, Standardized Work, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Error Proofing, Set up Reduction, Continuous Flow, & Pull Systems
- Proactive with desire to improve organization performance
- Strong understanding of best practices in customer service
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis and suiting methodology.
- Demonstrated use of structured problem-solving methods (i.e. 5Y, 8D, Fishbone)
- Experience in aerospace or automotive.
- Excellent PC skills, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must work well in a team environment and commit to continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial or related field. (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to Satisfy AFSI ITAR requirements
