Until FilledWe would like to announce the opening of a custodian position with the Castle Rock School District. The position will be six (6) hours per day-five (5) days per week at the middle school building for the 2024-45 school year. This is a year-round position.

Seniority rights will be excercised according to Article X, Section 10.5 of the P.S.E. Negotiated Agreement.
General Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the maintenance supervisor, provides a safe, sanitary and healthy environment for students, district personnel and community members.
Essential Functions:
This position is for the duration of a given school year approximately nine months in length with salary starting at $23.79 per hour for approximately 7.5 hours per day with
benefits that include Healthcare benefits (medical insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance), retirement benefits, 12 days of sick leave accruals and 2 days of personal leave per year. FLSA: NON-EXEMPT

Essential Functions:
- Secures buildings as directed.
- Performs any custodial work including sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, disinfecting, chemical cleaning, etc. to all interior and exterior areas of the building.
- Dispenses of all trash to outside dumpsters.
- Cleans all furnishings, woodwork, windows, etc. as directed.
- Maintains all dispensers including paper towels, soap, toilet paper items, etc.
- Removes/unplugs blockages from sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, drains, etc.
- Moves furniture including chairs, desks, tables; opens/closes bleachers as directed.
- Reports immediately all hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions.
- Safely disposes of body fluids including blood, vomit, etc.
- Follows all hazardous chemical warning labels, MSDS and written hazard communication programs.
- Maintains adequate stock of supplies and equipment.
- Must have a working knowledge of miscellaneous tools and equipment to perform necessary tasks.
- Maintains a record of regular attendance, arrives and departs at specified times and notifies appropriate personnel when they must be absent.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to use safe operations and common practices of custodial equipment.
- Ability of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Physically capable of using a wet mop for prolonged periods of time
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team concept.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and commitment to follow through on tasks without direct supervision.
- A positive attitude toward children and their families,
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Criminal history fingerprint clearance through Washington State Patrol and FBI at employees expense.
- Recent successful custodial experience in education setting.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to supervisors/administrators.
- Valid first aid card.
