Job Title: Custodian
Full-time staff (260 days paid over 12 months)
Department: Facilities Management
Report to: Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our facilities by performing routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and dusting while adhering to safety protocols and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for all occupants. Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facility by performing routine cleaning tasks and addressing maintenance needs, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all staff and visitors

Core responsibilities:
  • Emptying trash cans and recycling bins
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
  • Dusting furniture and surfaces
  • Window cleaning (as needed)
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of common areas
  • Reporting maintenance issues
  • Desired skills and qualities:
  • Attention to detail
  • Physical stamina for prolonged standing and lifting
  • Ability to work independently and follow cleaning schedules
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor repairs (optional)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (if applicable)



Responsibilities:
  • Regularly sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the building.
  • Empty trash cans and recycling bins in designated areas.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, including fixtures and surfaces.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, and high-reach areas Clean windows and glass partitions as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas like hallways, stairwells, and entrances
  • Report any maintenance issues or damage to the appropriate personnel
  • Follow established cleaning procedures and safety protocols
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous custodial experience preferred
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate cleaning equipment
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards


Faculty: Must be willing and able to secure an Ohio Permanent Non-Tax certificate or Professional Teaching license. The school will support you in obtaining this once hired. However, it must be secured within the first six months of employment for compliance purposes.
