Description
To safely and responsibly operate the warehouse forklift truck and perform various material handling duties.

Open Shifts 
A Crew
6am - 4:30pm Monday thru Thursday
that is a 40hour week / 10hr shifts
B Crew
6PM - 4:30AM Tuesday thru Friday
that is a 40hour week / 10hr shifts 
 C Crew
Friday and Saturday 6am thru 4:30pm
Sunday and Monday 6PM thru 4:30AM
that is a 40hour week / 10hr shifts 


Key Responsibilities
All functions will be completed as per the plant’s TS 16949 quality system and ISO 14001 environmental management system.

 1.     Prior to signing out equipment performs operations and safety check, including battery, brakes, lifts controls, and fire extinguisher.
 
2.     Signs out equipment daily on release form.
 
3.     Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull, load, and move product and stock, checking all relevant documents specific to the product and stock being moved.
 
4.     Uses equipment appropriate to each type of movement
 
5.     Observes all safety practices and procedures in the plant, never moving material without the ability to see clearly in the direction the forklift is traveling.  The forklift operator is always to have safety at the forefront of his or her concerns.
 
6.     At each day’s end, returns equipment to correct charging station, and prepares equipment for daily (possibly overnight) charge.
 
7.     Must obtain forklift certification.
 
8.     Receive pass down information via shift meeting
 
9.     Receive schedule, verify job packet, and ensure everything is at the press that is needed to run that job.
 
10.  Remove anything from the press that is not need for that job, includes materials, packaging and finished goods.

Physical Demands:
  • Standing – frequently required on concrete floor
  • Walking – required when operating the forklift
  • Lifting – up to 60 lbs sometimes required from floor to waist level to weigh material and packages; up to 80 lbs from waist to shoulder sometimes required to fill hoppers; up to 60 lbs from shoulder and above occasionally required to retrieve supplies
  • Pushing/pulling – occasionally required in front of body to push material containers
  • Climbing – occasionally required to climb ladder

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
High school diploma or equivalent. One to three years operator experience desirable. Competency in reading, writing, and basic math. Valid Drivers License and passing grade on Power Industrial Truck test.
