Welding Engineer
Stoughton, Wisconsin - Full Time
Productive Resources(www.productiveresources.com)is seeking acandidateto be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Stoughton, Wisconsin. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a skilled Weld Cell Engineer. This role is designed for an individual with a strong technical background in welding processes and a desire to optimize welding automation in a manufacturing setting. The Weld Cell Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting welding systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety within our trailer production lines.
This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with theopportunityof professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.
Duties:
- Analyze and improve the welding processes and systems to enhance productivity, reduce cycle times, and improve weld quality within the production cells.
- Design, configure, and set up automated welding systems, including robotic weld cells, to support production needs.
- Provide technical support for automated welding equipment and systems, performing troubleshooting and maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with production teams, engineers, and maintenance personnel to ensure the welding cells are operating efficiently and meeting production goals.
- Monitor and assess weld quality using appropriate measurement and inspection tools.
- Ensure that all welded components meet or exceed required specifications.
- Program and configure robotic welders and other automation equipment to ensure seamless integration with production lines.
- Maintain detailed records of welding processes, setups, equipment maintenance, and performance metrics.
- Ensure that all welding operations are performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations, fostering a safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Welding Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in welding engineering or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and robotic welding.
- Experience with robotic welding systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB, etc.) and welding automation technology.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with welding control systems and programming for robotic welders.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly resolve issues and optimize welding systems.
- Familiarity with welding and manufacturing software tools, including those used for process control, programming, and quality inspection.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure weld quality and accuracy in complex designs.
