Job Summary:

The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is responsible for ensuring that welded components and structures meet industry standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting welds, reviewing documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The CWI works closely with welding teams, engineers, and project managers to maintain the integrity of welded products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Client QA/QC/NDE requirements are met.
  • Coordinate / Schedule third party inspections as required.
  • Assist in maintaining continuity logs.
  • Communicates with fabrication personnel regularly and seeks their input on resolving quality issues.
  • Assists in identifying and solving quality non-conformances in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain inspection history of completed projects and trending metrics.
  • Determine inspection equipment needs.
  • Maintain record of non-conforming material.
  • Assist in implementation of Quality Control Program.


Education:

  • Must have a current CWI certification


Experience:

  • 5 years' experience as a Certified Welding Inspector is required.


Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
  • MT/PT experience preferred
  • Knowledge in API 650 653 code
  • Knowledge in ASME
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills.
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, generating reports and analysis.
  • Able to use both metric and standard systems of measurement.


Work Location and Travel:

  • Location is at 1897 NW County Line Road, Bowling Green, FL 33834.


Work Environment:
  • The working environment is often in harsh elements (hot / humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards / risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday - Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.

Physical Requirements:

Talk/Hear: Must be able to communicate with welding teams, discuss inspection findings, and address any issues related to welding quality and safety.

Stand/Sit: Frequently involves sitting for detailed inspections and documentation and standing for conducting site evaluations and overseeing welding processes.

Walk: Frequently required to walk between different inspection sites, access various areas of a project, and conduct thorough evaluations.

Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle inspection tools, measure welds, and assess the quality of materials and workmanship. Climb:Frequently required to climb ladders, scaffolding, or structures to access elevated areas or structures for thorough inspection of welds and materials.

Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crawl into tight spaces or under structures to access and inspect welds in confined or low-access areas.

See: Must have excellent vision abilities to accurately assess welds, inspect materials, and ensure compliance with standards and specifications.

Carry, weight, Lift: Must be able to occasionally carry or lift to handle and transport inspection tools, equipment, or samples required for their assessments.

Exposure to work: Works primarily in industrial settings such as construction sites or manufacturing plants where exposure to hazards like noise, heat, and welding fumes is common. Must adhere to safety protocols and wear protective equipment.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
