Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Welding Inspector responsible for ensuring product compliance with specified standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, knowledge of precision measurement tools, and experience in various types of inspections, including structural steel and weld inspections.

Welding Inspector
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Welding Inspector responsible for ensuring product compliance with specified standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, knowledge of precision measurement tools, and experience in various types of inspections, including structural steel and weld inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough layout inspections by measuring dimensions like length, height, and distances using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and CMM) to ensure product specifications are met.
- Measure angles, arcs, and radii using equipment like surface plates, parallel bars, gauge blocks, V-blocks, sine bars, and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform structural steel, weld, and special inspections, generating detailed inspection reports as required.
- Carry out Nondestructive Examinations (NDE) such as Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspections, Ultrasonic Testing, and Visual Inspections, in line with SNT-TC-1A standards.
- Ensure testing is conducted accurately, following established procedures, and clearly document examination results.
- Compare workpieces visually to identify and assess manufacturing variations.
- Provide training and assistance to operators regarding welding visual acceptability, measurement techniques, and process procedures.
- Report quality issues to the Quality Control Manager and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation of any rejected parts.
- Conduct internal audits to evaluate quality standards and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Flexibility to adapt to plant production schedules.
- Minimum one year of experience using computers and precision measuring instruments.
- CMM operation and programming experience is a plus.
- Level II certification in at least three Nondestructive Testing methods
- Technical Degree preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required, with 2+ years of related technical experience.
