The Assistant Sports Information Director is responsible for assisting with all aspects of media and sports information relating to the University's intercollegiate sport programs. The Assistant Sports Information Director is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Life University, any conference affiliations, USA Rugby, and the NAIA.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the the development and implementation of a proactive media outreach program to print, TV, web based media, and other electronic media outlets to encourage coverage of athletic events/news.
- Create, consult and manage the department's digital engagement platforms including all websites and social media platforms
- Interact with coaches and student-athletes to create engaging content for university and surrounding community to follow Life University athletics
- Create infographics
- Create achievement-based graphics
- Create video vignettes with interesting and creative content
- Write profile stories on coaches, recruits, current student-athletes
- Provide marketing and advertisement for athletic events
- Prepare media releases to communicate with the general public news and information about the university's athletics program and teams.
- Organize, oversee, and execute fun and engaging media days for all Life U Athletic teams
- Serve as the public relations agent for the Department of Athletics in developing positive relations with media representatives from the electronic and print media.
- Oversee production of media guides, publications, and game-day materials for all sports.
- Attend/oversee management of the press box/scorer's table at various home sporting events, or assign coverage of this function to other relevant parties.
- Help with maintenance of all portions of the athletics web site.
- Oversee photography for competition and department events
- Assist in ensuring gender and sport equity in areas of coverage, marketing, and recognition.

Requirements
Education, Training and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications including but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere and Adobe InDesign
- Proficiency with popular social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Experience with or ability to quickly learn stat various sports.
- Familiarity with web languages (HTML, CSS, JS)
- Comfortability with working in front of a video camera to assist in creating video content.
- Candidates should have a basic knowledge of photography and videography.
- Demonstrated skill in multi-tasking, organization, and planning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse student, faculty, and staff community.
Working Conditions
- Work performed in both a general office environment and outside areas.
- Moderate amount of travel is required.
- Must be able to work evening/weekend hours and/or a modified work week schedule.
