Job Title: Youth Sports Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Youth Development Director the Youth Sports Instructor will help teach all levels of sports and character development in a positive atmosphere that will allow the participants to learn and grow.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach sports skills to kids from beginners to advanced
- Attend all staff meetings and training sessions
- Teach participants about healthy lifestyles and nutrition
- Act as a role model for YMCA Core Values
- Help create a climate that fosters YMCA goals and a fun, engaging atmosphere for all participants
- Proper care and storage of sports equipment
- Supervision of participants at all points of the day
- Generate new ideas to implement into the schedule
- Supervise and help train volunteers
- All duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The candidate must have working knowledge of all principles of health and fitness.
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current Community CPR, First Aid, & AED required within 30 days of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 30 pounds in weight.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
