Main Street Dental is hiring: Dental Hygienist in Elgin

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated dental hygienist to join our team. As a dental hygienist, you will work closely with our dental team to provide patients with high-quality oral health care. You will be responsible for performing various dental procedures, educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities:

• Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal scaling and root planing, and other dental procedures as directed by the dentist.
• Administer local anesthesia as necessary.
• Take dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Conduct thorough oral cancer screenings.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide instructions on how to maintain good oral health.
• Record and update patient medical and dental histories.
• Maintain sterilization and infection control procedures in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the dentist.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree or higher in dental hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Active state dental hygiene license.
• CPR certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Proficiency with dental software and technology.
