Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) plays a vital role in the healthcare system, providing specialized care to critically ill patients. ICUs serve patients requiring constant monitoring, evaluation, and intervention due to severe health complications or postoperative recovery. As an RN in this high-pressure environment, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions continually.

- Manage advanced life support equipment.
- Document patient information accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans.
- Participate in regular team meetings and case reviews.
- Implement infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist in surgical procedures and interventions as needed.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to families.
- Conduct regular rounds to evaluate patient progress.

- Maintain knowledge of best practices and advancements in critical care.
- Current RN license in the state of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in ICU.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions.
- Experience with ICU equipment and technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
