Job Description
Position Title: Housekeeper
Location: Malibu, California
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Reports To: Facility Manager
Summary: The Housekeeper at The Pointe Malibu Recovery Center plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents and staff. This position involves performing various cleaning tasks to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the facility, contributing to the overall well-being and recovery of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks in all areas of the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and offices.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize surfaces and floors.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, showers, sinks, and mirrors.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Facility Manager promptly.
- Laundry Services:
- Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute laundry for residents and facility use.
- Ensure proper handling of resident personal items and facility linens.
- Resident Support:
- Interact with residents in a respectful and supportive manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and always uphold the dignity and privacy of residents.
- Assist residents with housekeeping-related concerns or requests as appropriate.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow established cleaning protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in regular training sessions on safety, infection control, and other relevant topics.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff, as well as nursing and support staff, to ensure a cohesive and efficient operation.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience, preferably in a healthcare or residential setting, is highly desirable.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Work Environment:
- The position involves working in a residential treatment facility with exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential biohazards.
- The role requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
