Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
The purpose of the Housekeeping Supervisor role is to assist in the management and supervision of the Housekeeping Department and ensure that the hotel guest rooms, and public spaces exceed our guest expectations and the hotel's standard of products and services. This position reports to the Housekeeping Manager and Director of Housekeeping.

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall quality of guest rooms within the hotel. This role involves managing GRA activities, conducting detailed inspections, providing feedback to housekeeping staff, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness to enhance the guest experience.

Job Summary
As a Housekeeping Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall quality of guest rooms within the hotel. This role involves managing GRA activities, conducting detailed inspections, providing feedback to housekeeping staff, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness to enhance the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Training
- Conducts thorough inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure adherence to established cleanliness and maintenance standards.
- Evaluates the quality of cleaning, bed-making, and overall presentation to exceed guest expectations.
- Manages the performance and productivity of GRAs and provides positive feedback and progressive discipline when appropriate.
- Provides constructive feedback to the Facilities department based on hotel room and property wide inspection findings, emphasizing areas needing improvement i.e. paint, drywall, furniture and/or equipment repair, etc.
- Coordinates with the Management team to conduct training sessions and refresher courses for housekeeping personnel, focusing on maintaining consistent quality.
Coordination with Housekeeping Management & Staff
- Collaborates with the Housekeeping leadership team to address and rectify any deficiencies in cleaning standards.
- Assists in coordinating staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak times.
Guest Interaction
- Responds promptly to guest complaints and/or concerns related to room cleanliness.
- Collaborates with the front desk and guest services to resolve issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities to ensure proper par levels.
- Report any shortages or overstock situations to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inspection reports, noting trends, recurring issues, and corrective actions taken.
- Generate ongoing reports on performance, cleanliness scores, and guest feedback.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Ensure that housekeeping staff follows health and safety protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety training for housekeeping staff.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the housekeeping leadership team and other hotel departments to ensure a cohesive and efficient operation.
- Participate in regular meetings to discuss housekeeping performance, challenges, and improvement strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality or housekeeping is a plus.
- Bilingual preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience in housekeeping, with a focus on quality inspection.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback and guidance.
- Familiarity with housekeeping software and systems.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical safety.
